My Kind of Town: Chicago Trip 2017

It might be the middle (and toughest) point of the semester, but that isn’t slowing our chapter down. At the beginning of the month, a portion of Alpha Mu was lucky enough to travel to The Windy City to tour some outstanding companies while enjoying the company of our brothers.

There is a plethora of information that can be found on prospective companies online, but nothing compares to being able to explore what happens behind the scenes. JLL, LinkedIn, Baker Tilly, Neato, and Hub International were gracious enough to open their doors in order for us to take advantage of this. While visiting, we were able to gain an in-depth knowledge on the company’s business structure, employment opportunities, climate, and network. Although no two companies were alike, the range in industries allowed all of our brothers to find their next potential niche.

After a long day of taking padfolio notes, wrapping up in our winter jackets, and jumping on and off the bus, we were all able to unwind at dinner to bond with our brothers over some Chicago style pizza. The opportunities we are given to grow as young professionals and see our futures in new lights is truly outstanding, but we must admit, getting away to the City for a weekend of brotherly fellowship is priceless. We are humbled by the great outings AKPsi allows us to be apart of, and for now, we’ll count down the days until our spring semester trip!
