FAQs
Contact VP Membership Suzy Dawood () with additional questions!
Is AKPsi only for male prospects?
NO! All genders are welcome and encouraged to rush AKPsi. Despite its misleading title as a fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi has been a co-ed business organization since 1973!
Are there requirements to rush?
Rushes must have at least a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for a bid. In addition, each rush must attend the minimum number of rush events; two open rush, a first round interview, one closed rush (invitation only), and a second round interview.
Is AKPsi only for business-oriented majors?
Not at all! Our chapter includes students majoring in business, engineering, communication arts, political science, computer science, and more.
Do I need to attend all rush events?
No. Only two open rush events are required, in addition to a first round interview. If invited back for closed rush, only one event is required, as well as a second round interview. Although it is not required to attend all events, it is HIGHLY encouraged as it offers us more of a chance to get to know you.
If I don't get a bid from AKPsi the first time, can I rush again?
Yes, we encourage you to do so! It is highly encouraged that a rush candidate apply again if he or she did not receive a bid the first time. Determination and personal refinement are valued traits in rush candidates. In fact, a large portion of our current members did not get in on their first attempt.
Is there a specific type of dress required for me to wear to each rush event?
Student casual dress is appropriate for open and closed rush events. Business professional dress is required for both first and second round interviews.
What is rush?
Rush is a series of events over two consecutive weeks to allow potential rushees the opportunity to learn more about Alpha Kappa Psi while in turn allowing the members of Alpha Mu to learn more about interested candidates.
